Since I write a lot on student leadership (which often translates well in other <insert adjective here> leadership endeavors), I am constantly reading about the the subject.
Every month, Amazon will release a new crop of books about leadership.
Every month, leadership organizations produce newsletters and resource articles.
But what about every day?
Welcome to the Google School of Online Leadership Education.
I have discovered a fantastic tool that sends me the latest articles and news information items about leadership EVERY DAY.
It's called Google Alerts.
Of course, you can simply go to Google and type in the word, leadership. Then peruse the results. But with Google Alerts, I get the freshest and newest information about the topic of leadership from news, blogs, web, groups, etc.
It's easy, and of course it works for most any topic.
1. Go to Google Alerts.
2. Type in your search term (i.e., LEADERSHIP)
3. Choose where you want to get your information from (I recommend: COMPREHENSIVE)
4. Choose to get your information once a day (RECOMMENDED), as it happens, or once a week.
5. Enter your email address.
That's it.
Tomorrow, when you get your first email, you'll have a wealth of articles, news clippings, blog posts, and other information about what's been published in the last 24 hours. You decide what to click through and read.
Some days, I read a lot of articles. Other days, I merely skim the headlines. Whatever your schedule, you now have a leadership curriculum that is delivered to your email address EVERY DAY.
SOMETHING TO THINK ABOUT: What are you doing to think, learn, study the topic of your choice EVERY DAY?
SOMETHING TO TALK ABOUT: Tell us how you would add or tweak this system.
