CASE STUDY: A student organization (not the whole group, but certain members) on campus, of which you are a part of, has recently been bad-mouthing one of the sports teams. Their words have caused a rift to occur between the two groups. You are part of the leadership in the student organization. You got together with the leadership from the offended group. It was decided that an apology would be appropriate from the those who said the hurtful and harmful things. It was very important to both of your groups that they continue to work toward an atmosphere of working together and not against each other.
So you and the student organization leadership requested that the certain members who made the statements go and apologize to those whom they had offended. After the apologies had been made, it was reported that the apology seemed forced, meaning that the students who offered it didn't seem to mean it. The offended party felt like the apology didn't do much of anything to remedy the situation.
So what now?
