Church of the Customer has posted a great example of a company, Tea Gschwendner in Chicago, that has placed a unique Help Wanted sign in their window.
"Are you passionate about tea?" they prominently ask passerbys.
I think this company gets it. You can teach proper brew techniques, running a cash register, stocking inventory, even cleaning up. Those things are important.
But the clincher...is your attitude about tea. That will affect your attitude toward your work, toward your effort, and...your attitude toward your customers.
Do you love what you do? Do people look at you in your position and recognize someone who is passionate about their work (so much so, that it almost looks like play)?
