If you are not familiar with ChangeThis.com, it is a cool site that allows people to voice their opinions or wisdom through manifestos. People submit a proposal, if the proposal is accepted then the public can vote for it to be written.

A familiar proverb states, 'when the student is ready, the teacher will appear.' But what happens when the teacher isn't ready? We all pay a price for bad teaching. Has anyone ever described your teaching as boring? Painful? Uninspiring? Or have they compared your teaching to such things as getting a tooth pulled? It is a unique opportunity and privilege to equip people and empower them with knowledge and a passion for learning.
This manifesto is mandatory reading for anyone who has to teach something to someone else. Gleaning from the experience of teaching in settings from Sunday School to College classrooms, this easy read offers over a dozen nuggets of solid teaching principles.
Everybody is a teacher at some level. Some are better at it than others. But the best teachers realize that they don't just teach material, they teach people, and instill within them a passion for learning. Let me share these principles with you. Vote for this manifesto to be written.
