Ski Race Results

Three of my four kids race for the McCall Ski Racing Team here in Idaho. I'm pretty proud of the race they had last week. You can see the results by clicking here.

It was a 3-way race, which means giant slalom, slalom, and nordic skiing. Travis took 2nd overall - because of a combined 1st, 2nd, and 3rd. Abby won her division. Mitchell took 7th, but he had a great attitude even though he didn't bring home any hardware.

Activity vs Accomplishment

I came across a simple thought today as I was listening to the radio on my way into work. "Activity does not necessarily mean accomplishment." I've heard it before. I'd be happy to give someone who is a lot smarter than me credit for pointing out this wonderful nugget of prioritization wisdom.

I may be very busy today, but the truth is - unless I'm doing the important things, I may not find that I've accomplished very much when I put my head on my pillow.

Making A Difference [revisited]

I'm still thinking about what kind of person it takes to make a difference. I would offer that they come in all shapes and sizes. I'll take a stab at putting together a list of a few qualities that I recognize within people that I would consider to be difference makers. They are ones who: * take a risk * make the hard decision even when it's not the popular one * change the status quo * serve others in the little things * encourage others to reach their potential * offer hope to others * lead others * recognizes opportunity

Recent Design

Here is a logo that I designed for the Northwest Region NYI. NYI stands for Nazarene Youth International. It is part of the Church of the Nazarene and the Northwest covers states like Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Montana, Wyoming, and Colorado.

Making A Difference

Most people don't usually make a difference on accident. Neither do they do it all the time on purpose. But somewhere...in the middle...along the way, they made a choice to be the kind of person that - in the right circumstances - the right opportunity - they end up making a difference.
